My Why
My passion is to help people grow in ways they hadn’t thought possible. This involves helping people identify their talents and aspirations. I encourage my clients not only to meet their current goals but to dig into their strengths and transferrable skills to reveal unrecognized potential.
During a dynamic 30-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, I advanced to executive levels within my corporate structure. I strengthened the entire talent pipeline by bringing others along and helping colleagues develop as employees, managers, and senior leaders.
Choosing to now focus on coaching is a natural career evolution for me. I believe that when we are faced with challenges or decisions, we often already know what to do but struggle to access the information. As a servant leader, I am practical, empathetic and inquisitive. I ask intriguing and evocative questions to help clients uncover answers and identify pivot points to help them get to where they want to go.
My Background
I'm a seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience driving success in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout my career, I consistently led growth strategies, expanded operations and minimized risks across various sectors.
For the last 20 years, I held executive-level positions overseeing clinical research programs funded by both industry and government agencies. In these roles, I have been responsible for all aspects of business execution, including managing teams, building organizational structures, setting strategic direction, implementing systems and selecting vendors.
I've consistently delivered significant results. For example, I led a $1.2 billion business unit with up to 700 employees across five countries. My focus on growth led to an 11.5% year-over-year increase in my department's productivity while expanding our global team threefold over five years. I was selected to lead a Vendor Management Solution group tasked with developing a universal selection and oversight process for over 600 vendors with contracts exceeding $450 million annually.
Beyond my corporate experience, I've worked with several non-profit organizations and understand the unique challenges they face. I currently serve on the boards of directors at the SPCA of Wake County and the Mustangs & Patriots Project and have held numerous leadership roles within both organizations. Previous board experience includes the American Sexual Health Association where I served as Treasurer for six years.
I'm a visionary leader who drives change with purpose and engages with intention. I'm a lifelong learner, always striving to improve my leadership skills and communication. I foster a positive and inclusive culture where we celebrate successes, which has led to increased employee engagement and retention.
I grew up in California, then completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Wyoming and a master's degree in Experimental Psychology from Kansas State University. After completing my studies, I began my career in the pharmaceutical industry in New Jersey. In 2003, I relocated to North Carolina and earned my MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill while continuing to work. I'm currently pursuing my Level I (Associate Certified Coach [ACC]) coaching certification through the International Coaching Federation, expected to be completed in April 2025.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, running, and continuous learning. In December 2023, I achieved my goal of running a marathon in every state and am now working towards running a marathon on every continent. Marathons have taught me valuable lessons about perseverance and motivation, which I apply to both my personal and professional life.”
